Mission Statement
The mission of the California National Guard Chaplain core is to provide religious support to Soldiers and Airmen, Family and contractors across the full spectrum of domestic and contingency operations.
Services
Counseling: Chaplains provide confidential counseling, ensuring individuals in crisis have a safe place to seek help. Chaplains also provide counseling services for a host of life circumstances and relational challenges to include marriage and relationship, conflict resolution, life skills, career guidance, youth and family, career challenges and transitions, command climate, and more.
Perform or Provide Religious Support: Chaplains assist command in providing for the free exercise of religion and for moral, ethical leadership and spiritual fitness training and support.
Crises Response and CCIR Follow-Up: Chaplains serve on the frontline of soldier care, intervening in challenging life circumstances to aid in healing and recovery. Chaplains assist in death/casualty notifications, casualty affairs officer assistance, mass casualty events, suicide intervention, etc.
Ceremony Support: Chaplains are an integral part of the rhythms of military life to include changes of command or responsibility, retirement, or other official events
Pastoral Visitation: Chaplains go where soldiers are in a time of need. This includes hospitals, unit, care facilities, etc.
Personnel Management: Chaplains assist in religious accommodation requests, conscientious objector, hardship discharge interviews, workplace violence, etc.
