​​Respond to all media inquiries regarding incidents, accidents, events and activities of the California National Guard. This office serves as the release official for all news releases, to include written and verbal releases to media, as well as serves as liaison between media and the California National Guard.

Visalia Cal Guard Vet Runs for Assembly

The Visalia Times-Delta newspaper posted an article today about California Army National Guard (CAARNG) veteran Devon Mathis and his bid for California’s 26th Assembly seat. Mathis said he did two tours in Iraq where he led platoons of up to 60 vehicles through dangerous terrain. He suffered brain injuries from two roadside bomb encounters which ended his military career. Read more here:

Air Force Site Features Three Cal Guard Brothers

Three California Air Guardsmen, who are brothers, are deployed with the 146th Airlift Wing in Southwest Asia. This story talks about their family's immigration from Guatemala and how the brothers feel they're all living out their patriotic father's dream. Read the story here:

Michelle Tan, reporter for the Military Times (Gannett) family of newspapers, reported today on the Army's and National Guard's relationship to its Eastern European allies amid the Ukraine crisis.
